Correct!

Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, ²by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.  1 Corinthians 15:1-2 (NAS)

Belief in vain means that belief is without reason or effect. What would you do if you find out that your belief had no effect or purpose? Are you willing to try your best to "hold fast the word" that is taught in the Bible?
