Correct!
Paul, writing to Christians, says in Romans 10:8-10:
But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your
mouth and in your heart"-- that is, the word of
faith which we are preaching, that if you
confess with
your mouth Jesus as Lord*, and
believe in
your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes,
resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he
confesses, resulting in salvation." (NAS)
Paul was writing to Christians in the city of Rome.
Paul had reminded these Christians throughout his
letter of many things that they had done to become
Christians, including the ones listed here. As
we will see later in this lesson, there is much more
to becoming a Christian than just to say that Jesus
is your Lord...or to say that you believe.
If Jesus is truly the Lord of your life, would
you not follow to the best of your ability the
things that He says...and then have faith in the
promises that Jesus makes to those who obey His
word?
"Not
everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter
the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of
My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on
that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your
name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your
name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare
to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who
practice lawlessness.' Therefore everyone who hears
these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be
compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the
rock." Matthew 7:21-24 (NAS)
