Correct.

And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:122-23 (NAS)

Rejecting God as King?

In the Old Testament, God was head over all things for the Jews (the children of Israel). However, the Jews came up with the idea that they needed an "earthly king" so they could be like the other nations.

1 Samuel 8:5-7 records the complaint of the children of Israel...and God's response:

"Behold, you (Samuel) have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations." But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to judge us." And Samuel prayed to the LORD. And the LORD said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them. 1 Samuel 8:5-7 (NAS)

Have some rejected Him today?

Many years after Jesus established His church, some have also come up with the idea that they need someone other than God and Christ.  Some people feel that they need men, women, or a group of men and/or women to be head over their church on this earth.

Would you rather be part of Jesus' church, where Jesus remains as head over all things...or a church where someone else is head?
