Correct!
"All
Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training
in righteousness;
that the man
of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NAS)
Can We Understand the Bible on our Own?
There are some who falsely say that a person
cannot clearly understand the Bible on his or her
own. Many are persuaded to just read books of men...rather
than the word of God.
But God is not the author of confusion.
What God wrote can be understood...but we must take
the time and effort. We must develop a love
for the truth:
"...by
revelation there was made known to me the mystery,
as I wrote before in brief. 4 By
referring to this, when you read you can understand
my insight into the mystery of Christ..." Ephesians
3:3-4 (NAS)
"...that their hearts may be
encouraged, having been knit together in love, and
attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full
assurance of understanding, resulting in a true
knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ
Himself..." Colossians 2:2 (NAS)
"...for God is not a God of
confusion but of peace , as in all the churches of
the saints." 1 Corinthians 14:33
The Bible Warns Those Who Do Not Have a Love for
the Truth
My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because
you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you
from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the
law of your God, I also will forget your children.
Hosea 4:6
"...that is, the one whose
coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with
all power and signs and false wonders, 10
and with all the deception of wickedness for those
who perish, because they did not receive the love of
the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this
reason God will send upon them a deluding influence
so that they will believe what is false, 12
in order that they all may be judged who did not
believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness."
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
Are you seeking to know and to love the
truth...to study and understand what is written in
the Bible?
So
Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him,
"If you continue in My word, then you are truly
disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know
the truth, and the truth will make you free." John
