Correct!
As
to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of
the grace that would come to you made careful search
and inquiry, 11 seeking to know what
person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was
indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ
and the glories to follow. 12 It was
revealed to them that they were not serving
themselves, but you, in these things
which now
have been announced to you through those who
preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit
sent from heaven-- things into which angels long to
look. 1 Peter 1:10-12 (NAS)
The Gospel Message:
This plan of salvation is not communicated by the
telling of make-believe stories...or proclamation of
other religious beliefs. The message of the
gospel is the true message of Jesus Christ...the
power of God for salvation:
"For
we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we
made known to you the power and coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His
majesty. 17 For when He received honor
and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as
this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is
My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased"--
18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made
from heaven when we were with Him on the holy
mountain. 19 And so we have the prophetic
word made more sure, to which you do well to pay
attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star arises in
your hearts. 20 But know this first of
all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of
one's own interpretation, 21 for no
prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but
men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
2 Peter 1:16-21 (NAS)
For the time will come when
they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to
have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for
themselves teachers in accordance to their own
desires; 4 and will turn away their ears
from the truth, and will turn aside to myths. 2
Timothy 4:3-4 (NAS)
For I am not ashamed of the
gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to
everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to
the Greek. Romans 1:16 (NAS)
