"He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son..." Romans 8:29

Physical or Spiritual Image?

Did God decide ahead of time that we should be conformed to the physical image...or the spiritual image?

Physical image (a plan where we would all look like Jesus physically)....or...spiritual image (a plan where we could be presented before God pure and holy as Jesus is pure and holy)?

"...just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him..."  Ephesians 1:4 (NAS)

Does it make sense that God wants to restore us to His spiritual image (an image of purity and holiness)?
