Correct.

But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.  Ephesians 4:20-24 (NAS)

When we put off the "old self," and put on the "new self" we are "conformed" to or "transformed" into the image of God, being righteous and holy. Consider these scriptures:

"But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NAS)

"...just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love." Ephesians 1:4 (NAS)

"and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth." Ephesians 4:24 (NAS)

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."  1 John 3:1-3 (NAS)

Man was created in the image of God; having intelligent thought, a soul, a spirit and being pure and holy. When does man lose this image of purity and holiness?
