Overview:
It is impossible for us to fully understand the
knowledge, wisdom and majesty of God through a
simple lesson such as this. The more that we
understand about God, the more we understand how His
ways and thoughts are not our ways or thoughts:
Psalm 139 says:
"O LORD, Thou hast searched me and known me. Thou
dost know when I sit down and when I rise up; Thou
dost understand my thought from afar. Thou dost
scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art
intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before
there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, Thou
dost know it all. Thou hast enclosed me behind and
before, and laid Thy hand upon me. Such knowledge is
too
wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to
it." Psalm 139:1-6 (NAS)
The purpose of this lesson is to begin to
understand what the Bible says about the one true
God that created the heavens and the earth.
Goals:
The goals for this lesson are to gain a basic
understanding or summary of:
- What the Bible reveals about what God has
done throughout history.
- The main attributes or characteristics
associated with God.
- An understanding of the "Glory of God."
- The physical nature of God as revealed in
the Bible.
- What it means to be "made in God's image."
