said in John 4:24: "God
is spirit, and those who worship Him must
worship in spirit and truth." (NAS)
In this very clear statement Jesus says "God is
spirit." Jesus makes other very clear statements
about the nature of His Father, which we will look
at in the balance of this lesson.
Do you believe that "God is spirit?"
said: "Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I
speak truth, why do you not believe Me?" John
In John 8, Jesus was telling the Jews how Jesus
had come from above...from His Father. Jesus
told in John 8:31-32 that if they "abide in
His words" that they would "truly be His
disciples"...and that they they would "know
the truth" and the "truth would set them
free." Jesus' true disciples abide in His
word. Others choose not to believe.
