Other Translations - Matthew
7:7-14:
"Ask
and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. 8
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread,
will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks
for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If
you, then, though you are evil, know how to give
good gifts to your children, how much more will your
Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask
him! 12 So in everything, do to others
what you would have them do to you, for this sums up
the Law and the Prophets. 13 "Enter
through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and
broad is the road that leads to destruction, and
many enter through it. 14 But small is
the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and
only a few find it. (NIV)
Ask,
and it will be given to you; seek, and you will
find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8
"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks
finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
9 "Or what man is there among you who, if his
son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10
"Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a
serpent? 11 "If you then, being evil,
know how to give good gifts to your children, how
much more will your Father who is in heaven give
good things to those who ask Him! 12
"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do
also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is
the gate and broad is the way that leads to
destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 "Because narrow is the gate and
difficult is the way which leads to life, and there
are few who find it. (NKJ)
Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8
for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that
seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall
be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you,
who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give
him a stone; 10 or if he shall ask for a
fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If ye
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto
your children, how much more shall your Father who
is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 All things therefore whatsoever ye
would that men should do unto you, even so do ye
also unto them: for this is the law and the
prophets. 13 Enter ye in by the narrow
gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that
enter in thereby. 14 For narrow is the
gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto
life, and few are they that find it. (ASV)
Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that
seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall
be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you,
whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him
a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil,
know how to give good gifts unto your children, how
much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask him? 12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men
should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is
the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in
at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad
is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many
there be which go in thereat: 14 Because
strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which
leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV) |
