God's Love -The Foundation of Grace:

God Loves Us...God is Love

"And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." I John 4:16 (NAS)

God Wants Us to Be Saved

"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1Timothy 2:3-4 (NAS) 

We Have A Sin Problem

"But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear." Isaiah 59:2   "The wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23  (NAS)

This gift of God's love was not earned or merited by us.  This gift was God's favor or blessing on all men and women.
