Examples of Faith - The Faith of Noah - Hebrews 11:7

"By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." Hebrews 11:7

The Story of Noah is Contained in Genesis Chapters 6-9

Excerpts from the Story of Noah and the Flood:

  • At the time of Noah, the world was full of wickedness. (Genesis 6:5, 6:11-12)
  • God grieved in His heart about the wickedness and decided that He would destroy all living beings. (Genesis 6:6-7, 13)
  • But Noah found favor in God's eyes.  Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time, and he walked with God. (Genesis 6:8-9)
  • God gave specific instructions for Noah to build a large boat (called an ark) for Noah, his family and certain animals to go into...to be saved from the worldwide flood that God would send. (Genesis 6:14-21)
  • Noah did all that God commanded. (Genesis 6:22)
  • God told Noah to enter the ark...he, his family and the specific animals.  Then God sent the worldwide flood. (Genesis 7)
  • God then stopped the rain and the floodgates of the deep.  After the flood waters subsided, they came out of the ark. (Genesis 8)
  • God blessed Noah and gave a covenant that He would not destroy the entire earth again by flood. (Genesis 9)
