Correct.
And
after the three and a half days the
breath of life from God came into them, and they stood on their feet; and
great fear fell upon those who were beholding them. Revelation 11:11 (NAS)
Despite the warning by God to those who would
harm His witnesses, they were still killed.
But, as with the resurrection of Jesus from the
dead, God is also able to raise these witnesses from the
dead.
Let's say that you are a Christian in a time of this great persecution.
How important
is it for you to be reminded that God can raise His followers from the
dead?
The witnesses are taken up to heaven:
Even though the witnesses were hated by the men of the world for their
testimony or prophecy about Jesus...and even though the world was happy at their
death, God brought them back to life and took them up to heaven...and their enemies could see them go up to
heaven:
"And after the three and a half days the breath of life from God came
into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who
were beholding them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to
them, "Come up here." And they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their
enemies beheld them." Revelation 11:11-12 (NAS)
The end of the second woe:
What happened after the two witnesses were raised from the dead and went back
up to heaven?
"And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city
fell; and seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest
were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is
past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly." Revelation 11:13-14
(NAS)
