Correct.
"...and the
street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass."
Revelation 21:21 (NAS)
Have you ever seen pure gold that was like transparent glass?
The light for the city:
And
I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the
Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. 23And
the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to
shine upon it, for the glory of God has illumined
it, and
its
lamp is the Lamb. 24And the nations shall
walk by its light, and the kings of the earth shall
bring their glory into it. Revelation 21:22-24 (NAS) In this city that represented the bride of Christ (the church), there was no
longer any need for the sun or moon to shine. Its light is the glory of
God...and its lamp is the Lamb of God. This is consistent with the
following scriptures:
In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the
beginning with God. 3All things came into
being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into
being that has come into being. 4
In Him was
life, and the life was the light of men. John
1:1-4 (NAS)
Again therefore Jesus spoke to
them, saying, "I
am the light of the world; he who follows Me
shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the
light of life." John 8:12(NAS)
"I
have come as light into the world, that
everyone who believes in Me may not remain in
darkness. 47"And if anyone hears My
sayings, and does not keep them, I do not judge him;
for I did not come to judge the world, but to save
the world. 48"He who rejects Me, and does
not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the
word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
John 12:46-48 (NAS)
But you are a chosen race, a
royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's
own possession, that you may proclaim the
excellencies of Him who has
called you
out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1
Peter 2:9 (NAS)
And this is the message we have
heard from Him and announce to you, that
God is
light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
I John 1:5 (NAS)
The followers of God and Christ (the bride) - presented in all her glory:
"...that He (Jesus) might sanctify her (the church), having cleansed her
by the washing of water with the word, that
He might present to Himself the
church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that
she should be holy and blameless." Eph 5:26-27 (NAS)
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to
make you
stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God
our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and
authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
(NAS)
"Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy
Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd
the church of God which He
purchased with His own blood." Acts 20:28 (NAS)
If you were a Christian facing great persecution, how important would it be
to you to know that Christ, through the blood that He shed on the cross, would be able to
present you blameless and without blemish...and that you would be so wonderfully adorned in His presence?
