Correct.
Keep up the good work.
"All
Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training
in righteousness;
that the man
of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NAS)
What would you think of a person or group that tried
to teach that the Bible was not sufficient for you
to be "thoroughly equipped?"
What is "scripture?"
Some try to say that the word "scripture"
only refers to the Old Testament, however from the
following verses we see that the New Testament
writings came from God or Jesus through the inspired
writers...and that these letters were also
considered "scripture."
For example in 2 Peter chapter 3, Paul's letters
were indirectly referred to as scriptures. The
apostle Peter refers to people who distort the
writing of Paul as they do the "rest of the
Scriptures."
"...and
regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation;
just as also
our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom
given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters,
speaking in them of these things, in which are some
things hard to understand, which the untaught and
unstable distort, as they do also
the rest of
the Scriptures, to their own destruction." 2
Peter 3:15-16 -- (NAS)
The holy writings (scriptures) that the apostles
received were from the Lord, through God's Spirit:
"For
I received
from the Lord that which I also delivered to you,
that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was
betrayed took bread..." 1 Corinthians 11:23 (NAS)
"...in these
last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom
He appointed heir of all things, through whom also
He made the world." Hebrews 1:2 (NAS)
"But know this first of all, that no prophecy of
Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human
will, but
men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."
2 Peter 1:20-21 (NAS)
"If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let
him recognize that
the things
which I write to you are the Lord's commandment."
1 Corinthians 14:37 (NAS)
"But when they deliver you up, do not become anxious
about how or what you will speak; for
it shall be
given you in that hour what you are to speak."
Matthew 10:19 (Jesus speaking to His 12 apostles --
NAS)
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know
the things freely given to us by God, which things
we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom,
but in those
taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual
thoughts with spiritual words." 1 Corinthians
2:12-13 (NAS)
Do you believe that the Bible is the inspired
(God-breathed) word from God?
