Correct!

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 7but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.  1 John 1:6-10 (NAS)

What About A Person Who Sins Willfully...Hoping that God's Grace Will Continue to Abound?

Should we continue to sin, hoping that grace may increase?  Should we ignore the teachings of the Bible hoping that God's grace will always cover us?

Romans 6:1-2 -- What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace might increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" (NAS)

Romans 6:15 -- What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! (NAS)

James 4:17 -- Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do, and does not do it, to him it is sin. (NAS)

Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14 -- "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. "For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it. (NAS)

Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23 -- "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.' (NAS)

Walking in the Light:

The details of what it means to walk in the light are out of the scope of this lesson.  Read the New Testament cover to cover...over and over.  See the other lessons on this website.

Certainly as a starter, walking in the light would involve loving God with all our hearts, mind and souls and obeying His commandments...and also loving those around us as ourselves.
