Overview:
We learned in Lesson 1 how...through Jesus' death on the cross...He fulfilled the Law of
Moses...and ushered in the New Covenant that God had
promised in the days of Jeremiah the prophet.
When Jesus ascended to heaven forty days after His
resurrection, He told His disciples to wait in
Jerusalem for what God had promised...the pouring
out of the Holy Spirit as prophesied by the prophet
Joel...and the establishment of His Kingdom...the
church:
Jesus said in Matthew 16:18,
"...upon this rock I will build My church; and the
gates of Hades shall not overpower it." (NAS)
In this lesson we will take an
introductory look at the church that Jesus built.
