Other Translations - Matthew 16:13-20:
When
Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he
asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of
Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist;
others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one
of the prophets." "But what about you?" he asked.
"Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus
replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for
this was not revealed to you by man, but by my
Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter,
and on this rock I will build my church, and the
gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you
the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind
on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you
loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Then he
warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was
the Christ. (New International Version - NIV)
When

asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I,
the Son of Man, am?" So they said, "Some say John

say that I am?" Simon Peter answered and said, "You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus
answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon
Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this
to you, but My Father who is in heaven. "And I also
say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I
will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall
not prevail against it. "And I will give you the
keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind
on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you

commanded His disciples that they should tell no one

the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or
one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But who say
ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And
Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
Simon Bar-Jonah: for flesh and blood hath not

asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I
the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou
art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others,
Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto
them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter
answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of

which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That
thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my
