Correct.
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should
preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have
preached to you,
he is to be
accursed! 9 As we have said
before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching
to you a gospel contrary to what you received,
he is to be
accursed! Galatians 1:8-9 (NAS)
Why do you think it is against the will of God
for a group decides to change
the gospel or other parts of God's word to make them
more pleasing to men, or to make people feel happy
(or for any reason)?
Paul continues in that chapter (Galatians
1:10-12) saying:
For
am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am
I striving to please men? If I were still trying to
please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
11 For I would have you know, brethren,
that the gospel which was preached by me is not
according to man. 12 For I neither
received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I
received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:10-12 (NAS)
The gospel taught in the New Testament is "not
according to man," rather it was received from
Jesus Christ.
No man is authorized to change God's words or
God's prophecies:
"You
shall not add to the word which I am commanding you,
nor take away from it, that you may keep the
commandments of the LORD your God which I command
you." Deuteronomy 4:2 (NAS)
Revelation
22:18-19 "I testify to everyone who hears the words
of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to
them, God shall add to him the plagues which are
written in this book; and if anyone takes away from
the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall
take away his part from the tree of life and from
the holy city, which are written in this book."
Revelation 22:18-19 (NAS)
