"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. John 14:15 (NAS)

Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him. John 14:23 (NAS)

"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. John 15:10 (NAS)

"For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother." Matthew 12:50 (NAS)

"God's son...who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord, 5 through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name's sake, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;"  Romans 1:4-6 (NAS)

Not Everyone Who Says to Me 'Lord, Lord' Shall Enter the Kingdom

Jesus says:  "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.' "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. (NAS) Matthew 7:21-24

What would you think of a person who says he knows God, but doesn't try his best to keep God's word and do what God asks?

"The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked." I John 2:4-6 (NAS)

Would a member of Jesus' church want to try his or her best to walk in this same manner?
