The Father and Son: Our Rock
Both the Old and New Testaments refer to God and
Jesus as a "stone" or "rock." As
we discussed, the New Testament was written in Greek
and the Greek word for mass of stone is "petra."
The Old Testament was written in the Hebrew
language. The Hebrew words used for rock are:
-
or "Sela" meaning a crag or cliff, or
-
=
"Tsur", meaning rock or cliff.
