Raised From Spiritual Death Through God's Glory

Jesus died and was buried in a tomb.  Then Jesus was raised from the dead through the "glory of the Father."  In a spiritual sense, we are dead spiritually as a result of the sin that separates us from God.  When we are buried in the waters of baptism...we are raised from the waters of baptism (also through the glory of the Father just as in Jesus' resurrection) so we might walk in a new life...a life free from penalty of sin:

"Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life."  Romans 6:4 (NAS)
