The Radiance...The Lamp of God's Glory:
"God,
after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the
prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these
last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He
appointed heir of all things, through whom also He
made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory
and the exact representation of His nature, and
upholds all things by the word of His power. When He
had made purification of sins, He sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty on high; having become as
much better than the angels, as He has inherited a
more excellent name than they. For to which of the
angels did He ever say, "Thou art My Son, today I
have begotten Thee"? And again, "I will be a Father
to Him And He shall be a Son to Me?" Hebrews
1:1-5 (NAS)
Referring to Christ Jesus :
"For when He received honor and glory from God the
Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by
the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with
whom I am well-pleased"-- " 2 Peter 1:17 (NAS)
Referring to the glory of God
and Jesus, the Lamb: "And the city has no need of
the sun or of the moon to shine upon it, for the
glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the
Lamb." Revelation 21:23 (NAS)
"Thou hast made him for a
little while lower than the angels; Thou hast
crowned him with glory and honor, and hast appointed
him over the works of Thy hands;" Hebrews 2:7 (NAS)
"But we do see Him who has been
made for a little while lower than the angels,
namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death
crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of
God He might taste death for everyone. For it was
fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and
through whom are all things, in bringing many sons
to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation
through sufferings." Hebrews 2:9 (NAS)
"Therefore, holy brethren,
partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the
Apostle and High Priest of our confession. He was
faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was
in all His house. For He has been counted worthy of
more glory than Moses, by just so much as the
builder of the house has more honor than the house.
For every house is built by someone, but the builder
of all things is God. Now Moses was faithful in all
His house as a servant, for a testimony of those
things which were to be spoken later; but Christ was
faithful as a Son over His house whose house we are,
if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our
hope firm until the end." Hebrews 3:1-6 (NAS)
"And the Word became flesh, and
dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of
the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and
truth." John 1:14 (NAS)
