In the Beginning, God Created:
As we have learned in prior lessons, John 1:1
says that the Word (Jesus) was with God in the
beginning:
 "In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God." (NAS)
Genesis 1:2 also says that the Holy Spirit was
there with God in the beginning.
"And
the earth was formless and void, and darkness was
over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God
was moving over the surface of the waters." Genesis
1:2 (NAS)
After creating the world and the universe, God
then created man and woman:
Then
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according
to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of
the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the
cattle and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creeps on the earth." And God
created man in His own image, in the image of God He
created him;
 male and female He created them."
