In the Beginning, God Created:

"Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath* of life; and man became a living being." Genesis 2:7 (NAS)

*From the Hebrew word "neshamah" (pronounced nesh-aw-maw'); defined as "a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect."

Question:

According to Genesis 2:7, how did Adam (the first man) receive life?

  1. God breathed into Adam's nostrils the "breath of life."
  2. God gave Adam water to bring him to life.
  3. Adam was born from a non-human mother.*

* Note:  Those that believe the theory of human evolution would have to believe that at some point in history, the first human being would have been born from a non-human mother.

God Breathed Gave Water Born of Non-Human
