the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not

"And I will ask the Father, and
He will give
you another Helper, that He may be with you
forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world
cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or
know Him, but you know Him because He abides with
you, and will be in you." John 14:16-17 (NAS)

Spirit, whom the Father
will
send in My name, He will teach you all things, and

After Jesus is raised from
the dead, and right before His ascension into heaven
"And gathering them together,

water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy
Spirit not
many days from now." Acts 1:4-5 (NAS)
Jesus says: "...but you shall
receive power
when
the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the
earth." Acts 1:8 (NAS)
Prior to Acts 2, scripture consistently talks about
the Spirit or Helper coming in the future.
