Correct. Keep up the good work!
"And
take the helmet of salvation, and
the sword of
the Spirit, which is the word of God."
Ephesians 6:17 (Paul speaking to the Christians in
the city of Ephesus - NAS)
The sword of the Spirit is not described as
physical weapons of war...or the thoughts of men.
The word of God is the sword of the Spirit.
There are people today who will refuse to read or
follow the word of God as contained in scripture,
but yet they will claim that they are being led by
the Spirit of God. If we are being led by
God's Spirit, then God's word will also be our
sword.
Hebrews 4:11-13 is one of many places that
discussed the importance of the Christian knowing
God's word:
"Let
us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest
anyone fall through following the same example of
disobedience. For the word of God is living and
active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and
piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit,
of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the
thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is
no creature hidden from His sight, but all things
are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom
we have to do." Hebrews 4:11-13. (NAS)
Jesus tells about the critical importance of His
words that He received from God, saying in John
12:47-49:
"And
if anyone hears My sayings, and does not keep them,
I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the
world, but to save the world. "He who rejects Me,
and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges
him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the
last day. "For I did not speak on My own initiative,
but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me
commandment, what to say, and what to speak." (NAS)
