Other Translations - Matthew
6:25-34:
"Therefore
I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you
will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will
wear. Is not life more important than food, and the
body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the
birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his
life? 28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See
how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor
or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in
all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the
fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of
little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What
shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What
shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all
these things, and your heavenly Father knows that
you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to
you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about
tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each
day has enough trouble of its own. (NIV)
"Therefore
I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you
will eat or what you will drink; nor about your
body, what you will put on. Is not life more than
food and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at
the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father
feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27
"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his
stature? 28 "So why do you worry about clothing?
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:
they neither toil nor spin; 29 "and yet I say to you
that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these. 30 "Now if God so clothes the
grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is
thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe
you, O you of little faith? 31 "Therefore do not
worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall
we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 "For after
all these things the Gentiles seek. For your
heavenly Father knows that you need all these
things. 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and
His righteousness, and all these things shall be
added to you. 34 "Therefore do not worry about
tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own
things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (NKJ)
Therefore
I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for
your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life
more than the food, and the body than the raiment?
26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow
not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns;
and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of
much more value then they? 27 And which of you by
being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of
his life? 28 And why are ye anxious concerning
raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they
grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 yet I
say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was
not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God doth so
clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and
to-morrow is cast into the oven, (shall he) not much
more (clothe) you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not
therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or,
What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be
clothed? 32 For after all these things do the
Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that
ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye
first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you. 34 Be not
therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow
will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day
is the evil thereof. (ASV)
Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what
ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for
your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life
more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold
the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do
they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly
Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than
they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one
cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought
for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how
they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his
glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the
oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of
little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying,
What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all
these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your
heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all
these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of
God, and his righteousness; and all these things
shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no
thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto
the day is the evil thereof. (KJV) |
