Correct.
"And when He (Jesus) got into the boat, His disciples followed Him.
24
And behold, there arose a great storm in the sea, so
that the boat was covered with the waves; but He Himself was asleep.
25
And they came to Him, and awoke Him, saying,
"Save us,
Lord; we are perishing!"
26
And He said to them, "Why are
you timid, you men of little faith?" Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and
the sea; and it became perfectly calm.
27
And the men
marveled, saying, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea
obey Him?" Matthew 8:23-27
On one hand...the disciples were not relying solely on their own strength (having no
faith in Jesus) and called to Jesus for help. On the other hand, with the little faith that they had...
they were still timid...and fearful that they were perishing.
Faith is the Assurance of Things Hoped For:
Sometimes in life...just as the disciples on the boat...we say that we have
faith in Jesus, but when the storms of life hit us we are timid and afraid.
Jesus rebuked his disciples for their littleness of faith in the midst of the
storm. Does Jesus want His true disciples to be timid and afraid...or to
have the full assurance of things hoped for?
In the midst of the storms in your life...are you willing to put your faith
in Jesus...having the full assurance of faith that He has the power to work out
the best thing for you in your life?
