Chapter
18: The Judgment of the Great City (The Great Harlot):
In the previous chapter, the great city (called the
"harlot" or "Babylon") was pictured as
sitting on many waters (representing the peoples,
nations, multitudes and tongues or languages).
It was also pictured as riding on the beast.
At the end of that chapter, the beast and its ten
horns turned on the harlot, ate her flesh and burned
her up.
In Chapter 18, the wickedness of the great
city...the harlot is described. At the end of
Chapter 18 it says:
"And
in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints
and of all who have been slain on the earth."
