John saw four angels standing on the four corners* of the earth, and another angel (a fifth angel) ascending from the east with the seal of God in his hands.

*from the Greek word #1137 "gonia" meaning angle (e.g., corner, quarter).  In this context, the four quarters are probably referring to North, South, East & West.
