Correct.
Keep up the good work.
"For
the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the
trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise
first. Then
we who are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in
the air, and thus we shall always be with the
Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these
words." 1Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NAS)
According to scripture:
-
"Jesus will descend
from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet of God" 1
Thessalonians 4:16
-
Then "the dead in
Christ shall rise first, then His followers who
are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them (the dead in Christ that rose)...to
meet the
Lord in the air." (4:16-17)
-
"And thus
we shall
always be with the Lord." (4:17)
Not On This Earth:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 above
says those that belong to Christ will "meet the
Lord in the air" where they shall "always"
be with Him. Jesus does not come down to
heaven to reign here on earth, but rather to gather
up those that are "in Christ" to take them to
the place in heaven that He has prepared for
them:
Jesus promised to His
disciples in John 14:2-3:
"In
My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it
were not so, I would have told you; for
I go to
prepare a place for you. 3 "And if
I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there
you may be also. John 14:2-3 (NAS)
When Jesus comes again, do you
want be caught up with the rest of those who are
"in Christ" to meet Him in the air...to go this
place in His Father's house that He has prepared for
His followers? To find out how to be "in
Christ" or "clothed with Christ," please
see Lesson 1.
