Section 3D of Preface: After Jesus Comes Again

Jesus said:  "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, you may be also." John 14:2-3 (NAS)

Question:

According to John 14:2-3, Jesus taught that He would go and prepare a place for His disciples in His Father's house in heaven...and that He would return to do what?

  1. To be an earthly King.
  2. To receive His followers to Himself so that they might be where Jesus is (where Jesus is preparing a place for them in His Father's house).
  3. To visit earth for a period of time.
