God is Righteous and Holy

There is "no unrighteousness" in God, and God cannot look upon sin. Without our sins being forgiven, we are eternally separated from God. Consider these scriptures:

"Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2 (NAS)

"To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him." Psalm 92:15 (NAS)

"And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5  (NAS)
