5:12-14:
Therefore,
just as sin entered the world through one man, and
death through sin, and in this way death came to all
men, because all sinned-- for before the law was
given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken
into account when there is no law. Nevertheless,
death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of
Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a
command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one
to come. (NIV)
Therefore,
just as through one man sin entered the world, and
death through sin, and thus death spread to all men,
because all sinned-- (For until the law sin was in
the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no
law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses,
even over those who had not sinned according to the
likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type
of Him who was to come. (NKJ)
Therefore,
as through one man sin entered into the world, and
death through sin; and so death passed unto all men,
for that all sinned:--for until the law sin was in
the world; but sin is not imputed when there is no
law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until
Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the
likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a figure of
him that was to come. (ASV)
Wherefore,
as by one man sin entered into the world, and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that
all have sinned: --For until the law sin was in the
world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even
over them that had not sinned after the similitude
of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him
that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is
the free gift. For if through the offence of one
many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the
gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ,
hath abounded unto many... (KJV)
