"Emuwnah"

Definition:

  • firmness (in a literal sense)
  • security (in a figurative sense)
  • fidelity (in a moral sense)

Following are the uses of this Hebrew word "Emuwnah" in the NAS Old Testament:

Exodus 17:12 -- "....Thus his hands were steady until the sun set."

Deuteronomy 32:4 -- "The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He."

1 Samuel 26:23 -- "And the LORD will repay each man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hand today, but I refused to stretch out my hand against the LORD'S anointed."

II Kings 12:15  -- "Moreover, they did not require an accounting from the men into whose hand they gave the money to pay to those who did the work, for they dealt faithfully."

II Kings 22:7 -- "Only no accounting shall be made with them for the money delivered into their hands, for they deal faithfully."

1 Chronicles 9:22 -- "All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their office of trust."

1 Chronicles 9:26 -- "...for the four chief gatekeepers who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the chambers and over the treasuries in the house of God."

1 Chronicles 9:31 -- "And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the first-born of Shallum the Korahite, had the responsibility over the things which were baked in pans."

2 Chronicles 19:9 -- "Then he charged them saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and wholeheartedly."

Psalm 33:4 -- "For the word of the LORD is upright; and all His work is done in faithfulness."

Psalm 36:5 -- "Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Thy faithfulness reaches to the skies."

Psalm 37:3 -- "Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness."

Psalm 40:10 -- "I have not hidden Thy righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation; I have not concealed Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth from the great congregation." 

Psalm 88:11 -- "Will Thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave, Thy faithfulness in Abaddon?"

Psalm 89:1 -- "I will sing of the lovingkindness of the LORD forever; to all generations I will make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth."

Psalm 89:2 -- "For I have said, "Lovingkindness will be built up forever; in the heavens Thou wilt establish Thy faithfulness."

Psalm 89:5 -- "And the heavens will praise Thy wonders, O LORD; Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones."

Psalm 89:8 -- "O LORD God of hosts, who is like Thee, O mighty LORD? Thy faithfulness also surrounds Thee."

Psalm 89:24 -- "And My faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him, and in My name his horn will be exalted."

Psalm 89:33 -- "But I will not break off My lovingkindness from him, nor deal falsely in My faithfulness." 

Psalm 89:49 -- "Where are Thy former lovingkindnesss, O Lord, which Thou didst swear to David in Thy faithfulness?" 

Psalm 92:2 -- "To declare Thy lovingkindness in the morning, and Thy faithfulness by night..."

Psalm 96:13 -- "Before the LORD, for He is coming; for He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in His faithfulness."

Psalm 98:3 -- "He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God."

Psalm 100:5 -- "For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness to all generations."

Psalm 119:30 -- "I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Thine ordinances before me." 

Psalm 119:75 -- "I know, O LORD, that Thy judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness Thou hast afflicted me."

Psalm 119:86 -- "All Thy commandments are faithful; they have persecuted me with a lie; help me!"

Psalm 119:90 -- "Thy faithfulness continues throughout all generations; Thou didst establish the earth, and it stands."

Psalm 119:138 -- "Thou hast commanded Thy testimonies in righteousness and exceeding faithfulness."

Psalm 143:1 -- "Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Thy faithfulness, in Thy righteousness!"

Proverbs 12:17 -- "He who speaks truth tells what is right, but a false witness, deceit." 

Proverbs 12:22 -- "Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who deal faithfully are His delight."

Proverbs 28:20 -- "A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich will not go unpunished." 

Isaiah 11:5 -- "Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, and faithfulness the belt about His waist." 

Isaiah 25:1 -- "O LORD, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; for Thou hast worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness." 

Isaiah 33:6 -- "And He shall be the stability of your times, a wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is his treasure." 

Isaiah 59:4 -- "No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity."

Habakkuk 2:4 -- "Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by his faith."
