Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled, and said to those who were following,
"Truly I say to you, I have not found
such great faith with anyone in Israel.
say to you, that many shall come from east and west, and recline at the table
with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven;
but the sons of the kingdom shall be
cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth."
And Jesus said to the
centurion, "Go your way; let it be done to you as you have believed." And the
servant was healed that very hour." Matthew 8:10-13 (NAS)
Later on it would be clearer to the Israelites (the Jews) that the
Gentiles* would also be able to inherit the kingdom of heaven.
* Gentile is a word for all people who are not of the
children of Israel (e.g., Romans, Greeks...anyone who is not of Jewish descent).
The Centurion's Servant Was Healed (Matthew
Faith is the assurance of things
the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews

The Thing Hoped For:
the Centurion's servant who was paralyzed
would be healed.

Nothing, other than asking Jesus for the
healing. Jesus did not ask the
Centurion to do anything.

Centurion have this assurance and conviction
that God could heal his servant with just
Understand the thing hoped
for...or the thing not seen.
Hear God's word (Faith comes
by hearing...and hearing by the word of
Christ. Romans 10:17) to
understand God's power and faithfulness
to His promises.
Do your part, if any.
Trust God that He has done what
He has said...and/or that He will do
what He promises.
Pray that God will help increase
your belief and faith (Luke 17:5, Mark
9:23-24) and give you wisdom (James 1:5).
