Genesis
18:25 -- "Far be it from Thee to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the
wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from
Thee! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" (NAS)
Deuteronomy 9:3-6 -- "Know
therefore today that it is the LORD your God who is
crossing over before you as a consuming fire. He
will destroy them and He will subdue them before
you, so that you may drive them out and destroy them
quickly, just as the LORD has spoken to you. "Do not
say in your heart when the LORD your God has driven
them out before you, 'Because of my righteousness
the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,'
but it is because of the wickedness of these nations
that the LORD is dispossessing them before you. "It
is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness
of your heart that you are going to possess their
land, but it is because of the wickedness of these
nations that the LORD your God is driving them out
before you, in order to confirm the oath which the
LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob. "Know, then, it is not because of your
righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you
this good land to possess, for you are a stubborn
people." (NAS)
Deuteronomy 10:17-22 -- "For
the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of
lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God
who does not show partiality, nor take a bribe. "He
executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and
shows His love for the alien by giving him food and
clothing." So show your love for the alien, for you
were aliens in the land of Egypt. "You shall fear
the LORD your God; you shall serve Him and cling to
Him, and you shall swear by His name. "He is your
praise and He is your God, who has done these great
and awesome things for you which your eyes have
seen. "Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy
persons in all, and now the LORD your God has made
you as numerous as the stars of heaven." (NAS)
Deuteronomy 31:16-18 -- "And
the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, you are about to
lie down with your fathers; and this people will
arise and play the harlot with the strange gods of
the land, into the midst of which they are going,
and will forsake Me and break My covenant which I
have made with them. "Then My anger will be kindled
against them in that day, and I will forsake them
and hide My face from them, and they shall be
consumed, and many evils and troubles shall come
upon them; so that they will say in that day, 'Is it
not because our God is not among us that these evils
have come upon us?' "But I will surely hide My face
in that day because of all the evil which they will
do, for they will turn to other gods." (NAS)
Ecclesiastes 3:17 -- "I said to
myself, "God will judge both the righteous man and
the wicked man," for a time for every matter and for
every deed is there." (NAS)
Ezra 8:22 -- "For I was
ashamed to request from the king troops and horsemen
to protect us from the enemy on the way, because we
had said to the king, "The hand of our God is
favorably disposed to all those who seek Him, but
His power and His anger are against all those who
forsake Him." (NAS)
Psalm 7:8-12 -- "The LORD
judges the peoples; vindicate me, O LORD, according
to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.
O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but
establish the righteous; for the righteous God tries
the hearts and minds. My shield is with God, who
saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous
judge, and a God who has indignation every day. If a
man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He
has bent His bow and made it ready." (NAS)
Psalm 45:6-7 -- "Thy throne, O
God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness
is the scepter of Thy kingdom. Thou hast loved
righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God,
Thy God, has anointed Thee with the oil of joy above
Thy fellows." (NAS)
Psalms 75:7 -- "But God is the
Judge; He puts down one, and exalts another." (NAS)
Psalm 111:7-10 -- "The works of
His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts
are sure. They are upheld forever and ever; they are
performed in truth and uprightness. He has sent
redemption to His people; He has ordained His
covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name. The
fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good
understanding have all those who do His commandments;
His praise endures forever." (NAS)
Psalm 116:5 -- "Gracious is the
LORD, and righteous; yes, our God is compassionate."
(NAS)
Psalm 135:5-14 -- "For I know
that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above
all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in
heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the
earth; who makes lightnings for the rain; who brings
forth the wind from His treasuries. He smote the
first-born of Egypt, both of man and beast. He sent
signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, upon
Pharaoh and all his servants. He smote many nations,
and slew mighty kings, Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of
Canaan; And He gave their land as a heritage, a
heritage to Israel His people. Thy name, O LORD, is
everlasting, Thy remembrance, O LORD, throughout all
generations. For the LORD will judge His people, and
will have compassion on His servants." (NAS)
Isaiah 12:1-6 -- "Then you will
say on that day, "I will give thanks to Thee, O
LORD; for although Thou wast angry with me, Thine
anger is turned away, and Thou dost comfort me.
"Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not
be afraid; for the LORD God IS my strength and song,
and He has become my salvation." Therefore you will
joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.
And in that day you will say, "Give thanks to the
LORD, call on His name. Make known His deeds among
the peoples; make them remember that His name is
exalted." Praise the LORD in song, for He has done
excellent things; let this be known throughout the
earth. Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of
Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of
Israel." (NAS)
Isaiah 45:18-23 -- "For thus
says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is the
God who formed the earth and made it, He established
it and did not create it a waste place, But formed
it to be inhabited), "I am the LORD, and there is
none else. "I have not spoken in secret, in some
dark land; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
'Seek me in a waste place'; I, the LORD, speak
righteousness declaring things that are upright.
"Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, you
fugitives of the nations; they have no knowledge,
who carry about their wooden idol, and pray to a god
who cannot save. "Declare and set forth your case;
indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced
this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is
it not I, the LORD? And there is no other God
besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is
none except me. "Turn to me, and be saved, all the
ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no
other. "I have sworn by myself, the word has gone
forth from My mouth in righteousness and will not
turn back, that to me every knee will bow, every
tongue will swear allegiance." (NAS)
Daniel 9:14 -- "Therefore, the
LORD has kept the calamity in store and brought it
on us; for the LORD our God is righteous with
respect to all His deeds which He has done, but we
have not obeyed His voice. (NAS)
Nahum 1:2-7 -- "A jealous and
avenging God is the LORD; the LORD is avenging and
wrathful. The LORD takes vengeance on His
adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies.
The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and
the LORD will by no means leave the guilty
unpunished. In whirlwind and storm is His way, and
clouds are the dust beneath His feet. He rebukes the
sea and makes it dry; He dries up all the rivers.
Bashan and Carmel wither; the blossoms of Lebanon
wither. Mountains quake because of Him, and the
hills dissolve; indeed the earth is upheaved by His
presence, the world and all the inhabitants in it.
Who can stand before His indignation? Who can endure
the burning of His anger? His wrath is poured out
like fire, and the rocks are broken up by Him. The
LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble,
and He knows those who take refuge in Him." (NAS)
John 12:46-50 -- "I have come
as light into the world, that everyone who believes
in Me may not remain in darkness. "And if anyone
hears My sayings, and does not keep them, I do not
judge him; for I did not come to judge the world,
but to save the world. "He who rejects Me, and does
not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the
word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
"For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the
Father Himself who sent Me has given Me commandment,
what to say, and what to speak. "And I know that His
commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I
speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me."
(NAS)
Acts 10:34-35 -- "And opening
his mouth, Peter said: "I most certainly understand
now that God is not one to show partiality, but in
every nation the man who fears Him and does what is
right, is welcome to Him." (NAS)
Acts 17:29-31 -- "Being then
the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the
Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an
image formed by the art and thought of man.
"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance,
God is now declaring to men that all everywhere
should repent, because He has fixed a day in which
He will judge the world in righteousness through a
Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to
all men by raising Him from the dead." (NAS)
Romans 6:23 -- "For the wages
of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (NAS)
Romans 9:14-16 -- "What shall
we say then? There is no injustice with God, is
there? May it never be! For He says to Moses, "I
will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will
have compassion on whom I have compassion." So then
it does not depend on the man who wills or the man
who runs, but on God who has mercy." (NAS)
1 Thessalonians 4:3-6 -- "For
this is the will of God, your sanctification; that
is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that
each of you know how to possess his own vessel in
sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion,
like the Gentiles who do not know God; and that no
man transgress and defraud his brother in the matter
because the Lord is the avenger in all these things,
just as we also told you before and solemnly warned
you. (NAS)
2 Timothy 4:7-8 -- "I have
fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I
have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up
for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day;
and not only to me, but also to all who have loved
His appearing." (NAS)
Hebrews 1:8-12 -- "But of the
Son He says "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever,
and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His
kingdom. "Thou hast loved righteousness and hated
lawlessness; therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed
Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy companions."
And, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the
foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the
works of Thy hands; They will perish, but Thou
remainest; and they all will become old as a
garment, And as a mantle Thou wilt roll them up; as
a garment they will also be changed. But Thou art
the same, and Thy years will not come to an end."
(NAS)
Hebrews 4:12-13 -- "For the
word of God is living and active and sharper than
any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the
division of soul and spirit, of both joints and
marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and
intentions of the heart. And there is no creature
hidden from His sight, but all things are open and
laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to
do." (NAS)
Hebrews 6:9-14 -- "But,
beloved, we are convinced of better things
concerning you, and things that accompany salvation,
though we are speaking in this way. For God is not
unjust so as to forget your work and the love which
you have shown toward His name, in having ministered
and in still ministering to the saints. And we
desire that each one of you show the same diligence
so as to realize the full assurance of hope until
the end, that you may not be sluggish, but imitators
of those who through faith and patience inherit the
promises. For when God made the promise to Abraham,
since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by
Himself, saying, "I will surely bless you, and I
will surely multiply you." (NAS)
Hebrews 12:22-24 -- "But you
have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads
of angels, to the general assembly and church of the
first-born who are enrolled in heaven, and to God,
the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous
men made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a
new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which
speaks better than the blood of Abel." (NAS)
Hebrews 13:4-6 -- "Let marriage
be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed
be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God
will judge. Let your character be free from the love
of money, being content with what you have; for He
Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will
I ever forsake you," so that we confidently say,
"The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What
shall man do to me?" (NAS)
1 Peter 3:8-12 -- "To sum up,
let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly,
kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning
evil for evil, or insult for insult, but giving a
blessing instead; for you were called for the very
purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For, "Let
him who means to love life and see good days Refrain
his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking
guile. "And let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it. "For the eyes of
the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears attend
to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against
those who do evil." (NAS)
1 Peter 5:5-11 -- "You younger
men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of
you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one
another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives
grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore,
under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you
at the proper time, casting all your anxiety upon
Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit,
be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls
about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to
devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing
that the same experiences of suffering are being
accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
And after you have suffered for a little while, the
God of all grace, who called you to His eternal
glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm,
strengthen and establish you. To Him be dominion
forever and ever. Amen. (NAS)
2 Peter 3:7-13 -- "But the
present heavens and earth by His word are being
reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and
destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one
fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord
one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years
as one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise,
as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,
not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to
repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a
thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a
roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense
heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
Since all these things are to be destroyed in this
way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy
conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the
coming of the day of God, on account of which the
heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the
elements will melt with intense heat! But according
to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a
new earth, in which righteousness dwells." (NAS)
1 John 4:16-21 -- "And we have
come to know and have believed the love which God
has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in
love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this,
love is perfected with us, that we may have
confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is,
so also are we in this world. There is no fear in
love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear
involves punishment, and the one who fears is not
perfected in love. We love, because He first loved
us. If someone says, "I love God," and hates his
brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love
his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom
he has not seen. And this commandment we have from
Him, that the one who loves God should love his
brother also." (NAS)
Revelation 16:5 -- "And I heard
the angel of the waters saying, "Righteous art Thou,
who art and who wast, O Holy One, because Thou didst
judge these things;" (NAS)
Revelation 21:3-8 -- "And I
heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold,
the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall
dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and
God Himself shall be among them, and He shall wipe
away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no
longer be any death; there shall no longer be any
mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have
passed away." And He who sits on the throne said,
"Behold, I am making all things new." And He said,
"Write, for these words are faithful and true." And
He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the
Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the
one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life
without cost. "He who overcomes shall inherit these
things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.
"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable
and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and
idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the
lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is
the second death." (NAS)
